Do UAE residents need a visa for Georgia? In most cases, no. If you hold a valid UAE residence visa (Emirates ID), you can enter Georgia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period — whatever your passport nationality — as long as your residence permit is valid on both entry and exit and your passport has at least 90 days’ validity. UAE citizens get even longer: visa-free for up to one year. Below is the full 2026 guide, including two important new rules.

New for 2026: travel insurance is now mandatory
Since 1 January 2026, every visitor entering Georgia — including UAE citizens and residents using visa-free entry — must carry valid travel or health insurance covering at least GEL 30,000 (around AED 41,000) for the full duration of the stay. The policy must be in English or Georgian and can be checked at the border; travelling without it can mean refused entry. From 2026, UAE residents holding passports from the countries below qualify for visa-free entry only if their UAE residence permit is multiple-entry and valid for at least 12 months on the date they enter Georgia. If it has less than a year left, you must apply for a Georgia e-visa (or a C1 tourist visa) before travelling:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen.
